Papers: Rolex Guarantee Certificates Bureau de Suisse

What does it mean when the suffix -01 is added to a serial number e.g. 14xx xxx on and on the ?

On a Rolex Guarantee from 1967 and a Certificate of the Bureaux Suisses (from 1966) the Serial number of a GMT 1 is indicated (hole punched) as follows

14xxxxx-001.

What does the suffix 001 stand for?

Thank you for your support
