Need Help Finding Mid-Sized BEATER watch

Guys and Gals-

My father-in-law works in a restaurant and is very tough on watches. Needs something all metal (bracelet) that is waterproof. Ti would be ideal b/c he wants it light. Here is his list of demands!

needs 40mm max size (smaller is fine, but not ladies)
needs to be analog
needs to be all metal
needs to be waterproof
needs to be somewhat tough
needs to be light
prefers arabic dials
quartz or auto (no manual)
needs to be under $500

Ideas?

Thanks guys.

I would say to hunt around for a used MkII Quad 10 or Vantage.

Here's a nice one on the MWRforum "PX"...

http://www.mwrforum.net/forums/showthread.php?t=27245

pic of the actual watch from that ad:

I know it's on strap and there's no bracelet, but that should be an afterthought - make sure the watch itself is a solid choice, you can always add a bracelet to any watch.

Some other pics (general)...

That is a nice watch, but really need a bracelet. He'll be dunking hands in sinks, water, etc.

i'd recommend a citizen or seiko titanium diver; citizen has eco-drive (no battery changes) and seiko has some perpetual date models.

You could easily get a used quartz Tag-Heuer Professional diver for that. Probably two.

Thanks for that Ed. I'll keep my eye out. They have the smaller size also.

Timex Expedition- there are a few all-steel models, and they're pretty bulletproof. Cheap, too.

Invicta has plenty of good ones, too. My Pro Diver has been everywhere- doesn't matter if it's covered in grease under my car or peeking out from under my white coat, it still looks and works great.

I'll throw a 2nd for Invicta. Their Pro Diver 8926 can be had for under $100 USD. It's not so light at 12.7oz.

I've had an eco drive as well for going on 10 years and I love it. Beat the hell out of it at work (I'm a paramedic, so it sees some abuse). It did die on me once out of warranty (which is a generous 5 years), though I sent it in and they repaired the movement at no cost and sent it back to me via overnight mail.

It also has a perpetual calendar which I love.

these are Rambam's pictures, once I saw this in his post I knew it would be an awesome beater and I was right, he was right, I wear this all the time now. It was hard to find in the U.S. so i had to buy it off e-bay but I'm very happy with it

Seiko SNZF11K1.

A very nice Seiko can easy be had for well under the $500 mark, with everything in his list requirements, and then some.
