I have been taking gains lately.

Slowly opening positions in Long Term treasury ETFs with the crazy gains on some of my tech and AI.

There's a long-term investment thread where you'd get more input methinks.

I’m still 80% equities. I have no plans to dial that down anytime soon.

Top 10 holdings:

NVDA
MSFT
VGT
AAPL
BAC
XLV
GOOG
XLY
AMZN
AVGO

Some of these stocks have skyrocketed over the last 9 months. But I think it would be a mistake to cash out now.

I'm going to set up a new ETF (as soon as I can get SEC approval) that will track my investment strategy.

It will do the opposite. It's bound to be successful.

Boring investing is my motto. Large cap, dividend payers, buy and hold through the ups and downs of market cycles.

energy stocks some of which are debt free (or very close) and pay 75-100% of free cash flow to their shareholders.

Banks, well capitalized, dividend growers.

Utilities, regulated rates, steady returns, growing dividends.

Railroads, in our country oligopolies with pricing power and wonderful bottom left to top right charts. Dividend growers as well.

Alternative asset managers. Compounding growers of capital.

I don’t much try to move in and out of the market based on the news of day. I just want to own good solid companies that will most likely still be around when I’m long gone

Watching the charts spell out Irrational Exuberance. Best investment I ever made was going all cash to end 2019. Just felt like the thing to do. Feels like it again, so I have. This time at least cash pays 5%.

Two questions:

1) Do you have a history of getting major market inflection points correct? Almost no one can do it consistently (even including professional investors). That said, there's nothing wrong -- and a lot right -- in rebalancing to meet target asset allocations (e.g., % stocks v. bonds). Tax efficiency is always a consideration too.

2) What's your investing time horizon? Different answer if you're 30 than if you're 60 with plenty of assets and trying to retire at 65. In the immortal words of Warren Buffet (paraphrasing): Don't risk what you have and need for what you don't have and don't need.

2019 was a great time to invest. There was a temporary dip in 2020 because of COVID, but that was another huge buying opportunity. It was full steam ahead after that.
