Snowflake vs White Birch
I always thought I might want a Snowflake, but am really glad I waited. First Spring Drive, first Grand Seiko.
Ordered direct from Japan, with a much shorter wait than originally anticipated, and a huge discount over retail. These seem to have lost their launch popularity, but it’s a great, easy wearing watch that pairs well with everything. |

Congrats, wear it in health.
Having owned both, I agree White Birch > Snowflake. |

I think these are great, congrats!
I couldn't pass up the opportunity to own one second-hand, considering they depreciate nearly 60%. I saw the Spring Driver version of the white birch for almost 4k the other day. |

lol wow that’s some terrible value. I bought the white birch in Tokyo and I think I got it for about 30% off versus us retail price due to VAT and strong dollar…I should have waited

As long as you keep it, it shouldn't matter! It's a beautiful watch nonetheless, and keeps scarily accurate time.
Now the Hi beat... from what I've seen on the forums would scare me if I had to send it back! |

Exactly. Great watches, low prices, innovative movements. A few thousand dollars isn’t the make or break part of the ownership decision. |
