I guess it was easier or perhaps common practice a few decades to brand each dial with the name of the jeweler? And then the practice stopped once reselling became popular? Just guessing here

Well, I would say it stopped when watch brands established themselves in the minds of consumers in general. Watches used to often only be branded with the jeweler name, and the double-stamped dials were somewhat of a transition to modern times imho.

Also I forgot to mention the Yacht-Master II is discontinued. RIP

I think it was indeed more common in the past for jewellers to brand their watch dials, customising and enhancing the prestige. The practice was reduced possibly because of the increase in reselling, as collectors sought original manufacturer branding for authenticity and higher resale value.
