Nakaya availability in Japan (Summer 2024)

Hey guys, has anyone been able to find any Nakaya pens available for sale in Japan recently? I was in Tokyo in January and Itoya had none and said they don't know when they'll get any more bc of the earthquake. Wondering if it's different now?

Planning to do a quick trip soon to do some shopping. Open to Kyoto or Tokyo area, but maybe Osaka as well.

Specific shop recommendations (and even specific SAs) will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks gents.

I have read that Nakaya has been having production issues for several years now due to environmental effects. Add to that the retirement of several of their elder pen makers and problems replacing them you have true bottlenecks working against them.

They are some of my favorite pens. I have always purchased mine online or from friends.

Shops? Sorry. I have not been to Japan and can't help there. But do let us know if you find any that are worthy.

Certain models of their pen are available without the wait. Check Nibs.com.
