MK-1 yacht master size?

Jacek has a pretty clean 1991 Yachtmaster but the size isn’t listed. What I’ve found the yachtmaster has many different sizes and I’m trying to get an idea of what size the MK-1 case would be. I have started looking for a 16618lb but this caught my eye and is 10k+ cheaper than the sub while still being a sport reference.

Can you guys help me determine the size of this case or should I just reach out to Jacek?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Thanks Mike!!

I’m just realizing the hour markers aren’t lumed. That’s a concern for me.

Do you know if they made a 40mm yachtmaster dial with lume plots at the hour markers?

Theres a small lume triangle next to the hour indices.

Whether they still glow is another matter

They wouldn’t be luminova?

I thought the transition from tritium was earlier but now I’m realizing this is damn near a 35 yr old watch. lol.

Another dial choice with lume. A little newer and cheaper. https://www.chrono24.com/rolex/yacht..._qleBAl&pos=10

Thanks. Champagne/brown dials don’t speak to me unless it’s a root beer GMT.

Also, the first YM’s used Submariner cases. Notice the lug holes and how the lugs don’t turn down like they do on current models.

The later cases are much softer and more rounded at the edges. I believe it was the first time Rolex brought out a new model with no differences apart from the dial to an existing model. It was purely a marketing exercise in producing a dressy Submariner.

The solid end links are long so the over hang is much more than a sub. If you have a smaller wrist, the fit might be an issue.

Thanks for that. My wrist is just under the 6.96” Jacek says the bracelet will fit (I already checked). My wrist is wide enough for my sub, I’ve actually got about 3/8” on top and bottom between the end of the lugs and the ends of my wrist.

If I follow through with this at least I get a 3 day grace period in case it won’t work.

I believe the change started with the 16622.

The original iteration is easy to see the similarities with a Submariner from the side.

The later cases up to now are super comfy IMO.

Would this bracelet have solid links or rolled/hollow like my 16613lb?
