Chrono24: selling PanAm GMT 1675
The “what one vintage Rolex would you wear” thread got me down the rabbit hole of looking at 1675 listings on Chrono24…this listing says it’s for the white dial 1675 “Pan Am” GMT.
Any thoughts? https://www.chrono24.com/rolex/1960-...c_BytPyy&pos=6 |

This has been for sale for a long time, probably well over a year, and is referenced in the thread about Erpin's silver dialed GMT 1675 (posts 406 onwards):
https://www.rolexforums.com/showthre...780500&page=14 The general view seems to be that the Pan Am case back is fake, there is no evidence that the dial is correct and the watch is probably a combination of genuine and fake parts. It is likely this has been done to produce a watch consistent with some of the Pan Am myths so that it can be sold at a high price with some made up story. Considering the long time this has been for sale and the interest in the Pan Am variants, I'm sure that it would have been snapped up a long time ago if it was of genuine historical interest. Edited to add: Here's another one from the same city in Indonesia for the same price and with the same style of advertisement, so it is probably from the same seller: https://www.chrono24.com/rolex/gmt-m...id33229691.htm It has also been for sale for a very long time. |

Looks like Chrono 24 has withdrawn this one.

Interesting. I figured there was some back story.
