Dining out-Times per month?

We live rural and prefer not going to town until we need too, which is still more often than we would sometimes like. With this lifestyle, we obviously eat at home the majority of the time, but most people we know go out a lot. That said, we do buy a lot of nice seafood and steaks for cooking or grilling quite frequently.

This will likely be shocking to others, but I would say we average 6 or less times per year dining out together. I have job related dinners much more often, but wondered where the rest of you stack up.

Quite a bit more for us. I do not cook (I do all the housework though) & my wife is extremely busy at work (add the traffic), she usually comes home after 6:30. With her being tired from work, we usually dine out 2-3 times between Mon-Thursday. Fridays are always family dinner & Sundays after church are usually the whole family for lunch/dinner. On the average we eat out 4-5 times a week. Some of people look down on us for doing so, but it is our lifestyle & we are fortunate enough to be able to. Going out to dinner gives the 3 of us time to just sit & talk & be together (I know - this can be done @ home & we do). However, this has been our lifestyle for nearly 15 years, even before our daughter was born.

My wife usually determines when we eat out. Most days if she is too tired to cook, we eat out. Yes, our kitchen gets very little use, unless my parents are in town.

Yeah, we do the Sunday dinner with family a lot, and usually here. BBQ and have people over a bunch too.

interesting question - at the moment, with both of our working schedules we eat out at an average of 6 days a week (dinner only). we would really like to cut down on that and starting to cook and eat at home.

Well, let's just say a lot!!!!! If I got out for lunch and dinner in the same day is that 1 or 2 times? That should give you an idea of how often I go out.

30-31 times depending on the month

The good thing is that I get high quality food at a low price.

I don't go out to restaurants much, I'm an actor on British TV and get recognised too much

most people are fine, they just want to come up and say hello and ask for an autograph. that can get a bit annoying on the odd occasion, but generally people are polite and i'll always sign for them and say hello back

some people (thankfully not many) want to stand and chat for ages, they think they know you for some reason and think it's ok to interupt my meal for as long as they want, very odd indeed

My wife was going out to eat so much, I had to hire a PI. Seems there is more than one type of sushi.

I live on my own and this world (and eating establishments especially!) is set up for couples and familes.

Thus I have found on the whole it to be an uncomfortable experience eating on my own in a restraunt. Singles usually get the crappiest tables as well and a great many give discounts to couples or family only. Let's just say eating in many restraunts in Vancouver for me is about as pleasing as having a root canal done!

Take out is as near as I get!

I eat out way too much be it breakfast, lunch or dinner. I'll eat out with coworkers, friends, wife and even by myself. I would say that I spend between $500-$1000 each month at restaurants.

We generally go out to eat at least 2 times a week, usually more. Every Saturday we always go out and have a big breakfast, and sometime during the week we go out and have dinner.

Consider approaching people near where you'll be seated and asking them if they would like to take a picture with you and if they'd like your autograph.

Catches them off guard everytime!

Hmm, it really depends which city I am in , Vancouver is almost... a 14x a week type of thing for me. Whereas Calgary is 2 - 3, as even I can make better food than what is typically available. I have my rituals, every Wednesday in Vancouver is Woon Wednesday (Chinese food), Saturday is Shabu Saturday (Japanese food)... and the rest of the days I just wing it with whatever I feel like... though usually it is sushi!

Icon14 Getting to know other couples better...

We eat out together 2-3 times a week.

Sunday, after church, we sup with various another couples from church.

Friday evening is our date night, just her and I .

Sometimes during the week we may do a lunch or a dinner.

I have breakfast with our pastor and a few other fellows on Friday mornings, as well.

I like eating out and I never bring anything home in a doggie bag.

I don't like left-overs, though we have three nights worth in our fridge and will probably have them for dinner tomorrow. She has forewarned me.
