While I already have one, a DJ36 in WG with a factory leather strap and WG deployant strap. This watch has a fluted bezel and a pink dial with indexes.

It would have been nice to buy this one new but it was discontinued in 2015.

Easy one for me. I'd say give me a 1655 in the modern 226570 case.

16700 GMT with quick set date. Oh wait, that what the Sky D is. Nah, I'll take a 16700 as well.

This is a bit ambigous. I don't know what components they still have available. Can we assume that Hulk is not too old for that? If so, I'd get the Hulk at its last MSRP in a heartbeat. And I would wear it (that part is to answer the only personal use clause). What about a Zenith Daytona? If so I'd get a champagne dial YG Zenith Daytona. Or maybe a white dial SS Zenith Daytona. Can't decide. Probably YG champagne.

Good point. I believe I once read that Rolex pledges to keep replacement components available for 30 years after final production, so perhaps we say anything that was still in production/just being discontinued as of 1994.

The Zenith Daytona is interesting, and I'm curious what they do if/when one of those needs a new movement, for example. Is there a stock of EP movements sitting in storage, or just individual components?

Well, it is a (highly modified) Zenith movement after all. So if I had to guess they keep the parts that are needed for service and probably a handful of other parts they changed just in case they have to replace the movement. Then they probably order a new movement and replace all those parts they changed.
