Price increase ?

I feel because of the price of gold going up. It may be warranted for another price increase, but I think all the watch companies are holding off raising prices because of the soft nature of the business right now. What does everyone else think?

Price increases are always coming, regardless of the price of gold.

Correct. Just a matter of when, not if. I suspect there will be the usual global price rise on 1st January. I would be surprised if any before that.

I would expect a substantial price increase early next with a view for Rolex to slowly close the gap between retail and used market prices on the hyped models. As long as people will keep paying the increases, the increases will keep coming.

It's not gold going up, it is the CONfidence in currencies going down. Said another way, the currency is worth less each passing day. Like the cost of food and things of intrinsic value, and BTC too as it needs to be 'mined'. So yes, as priced in a currency based on confidence, prices 'go up'.

In forty years of buying Rolex their price increases have never been tied to inflation. It used to be that global prices were tweaked so that the price of a watch was basically the same worldwide.
The US went almost a decade without a price increase but over the last five years we’re mostly back to the yearly increases. Meanwhile Rolex and its ADs are making plenty of money, gold prices have little effect on that.

Never, but once upon a time, there were discounts, so the impact of price increase was not as great…

Definitely gone up. I was slightly shocked that the TT explorer is now over 13k including tax when I picked it up yesterday.

We had a price increase in Jan and June 24 where I live. A TT Sub for example now retails at a whopping 17k... Cost me 13.6k back in 2020. Only 50 grams of gold. It's getting brutal.

Gold at another all time high

Yet, I believe that increases are not coming because of the softness in the luxury market
.
Maybe if inflation kicks in again , then increases may happen. Or, if the U.S. dollar continues its weakness

There was already a big price increase only for gold models this year. Can’t see Rolex pulling another one off soon.

There has been some models that did go down with their MSRP. I think it was the milgaus about 2-3 years ago
