When I was a young salesman on the street, the watches that were typically given to 30 year service people and retirees with enough years of service were TT DJ's. Execs got YG DD's.

The first half decent watch I owned (Aquaracer), which got me started with my latter day horological fascination was an award from my employer in 1999. I still have it and occasionally wear it. It's more symbolic than functional nowadays but I'm as thrilled to have it as I ever was.

It would be much easier just to go with Omega or some other brand than to support a brand than no longer cares about your business. Rolex has always been in the forefront as a corporate award watch.
