Daytona Grey prices UK/Asia

Hi watch enthusiasts,

I’m currently in Bangkok and have noticed grey pricing for Rolex models specifically steel Daytonas are at least 10% cheaper than grey dealers in the UK. Any particular reason for this as I assumed the grey market was universal?

Thanks

Yup, the British pound is always so strong against all other currencies and the taxes are higher to the seller’s , I think it’s 30-35%.

Cheers,

Rolex secondary market pricing in Bangkok seems to be lower than many other cities around the world at this time. I’m starting to see these watches being sold to overseas buyers since the local market has been pretty slow.

The grey market will be priced accordingly wherever you happen to be in the world

Bangkok vat is 7%, the UK vat is 20%. This is in itself should led to a 13% price gap :thumbs up:

Even going back 10 years the UK has always been a particularly expensive market where watches command a premium. There was a brief window when currency valuations changed that but broadly speaking it’s been more expensive there.
