Pretty sure I’ve drooled over this in this thread before but just saw again on GO’s instagram. I just love this watch wish it was even close to affordable for me maybe someday!

I‘ve seen it in the flesh a couple of months ago, and it’s spectacular. I still prefer the old version, though - but I am biased anyway.

It’s sublime no doubt.

(Me thinking aloud)

I can’t help but wonder if going so incredibly upscale is the right strategy. I consider GO a “Tweener” brand if you will. That’s not shade as they are probably my favorite brand behind the Crown.

I believe they are upscale to the entry and mid level luxury brands (IWC, Zenith, Omega) but yet will have difficulty competing if they go higher up the ladder and attempt to compete with the PP, ALS, VC, AP’s and the like. I see them kind of like the German JLC if you will.

Their biggest liability in the high end area is resale and brand recognition.

I wish they would focus their efforts and release more models in the 10-15K range (which can usually be had at discount at around Rolex RRP prices), and continue to refine (make thinner) their sports line. A SeaQ GMT would be incredible. For some reason, the Swatch co has really neglected the hottest segment of the last 5 years.

Feel free to flame away…. I was just enjoying my morning coffee and thought I’d add to the thread since I don’t have a pic of a gorgeous GO to add.

I would recommend to spend some time on the history of GO. They have been producing high end pieces for decades now and there is nothing wrong about that.

For a start, this is a good article: https://swisswatches-magazine.com/pa...e%2520Original.

And yes, there are other brands being more exclusive than GO, but those brands are also offering watches way more expensive. Long story short: I think GO is well-placed between some high end brands and the middle class of luxury watches. But that‘s just my two cents.

This is a stunner. GO does not get enough recognition.

Amazing and congrats. I had the orange three hand version a few years ago. Absolutely loved it at first, but the color got to be a bit much so I moved it on. Yours is much more of a keeper, wear it in good health.

Another gorgeous pick up Michelle. They nailed the colors for this year.

That’s a piece that would look particularly spectacular in gold!!

Love that orange. This one is great compared to the one they did with a date. That dial needs to get all the attention and be uninterrupted, in my opinion.

Partial to the green version. I am admittedly biased.

Throwing in a pic of this one just for the heck of it.

How would you propose they do that given the size of the calibre?

Love this thread. Unfortunately, I may be parting with my GO pieces soon. If you're into RG, chronometer calibers, please let me know!

Use a 90-02 movement or any of the older movements. Recall that most of the panos were 39mm up until 2012. Inverses were even originally branded as Panoinverse XL to indicate the overszed case. The 90-02 movement remains the same. The case just changed. It is now both bigger in diameter and thicker for some reason. Heck even the panograph and panomatic chrono were in 39mm. Granted the 91-04 has a different (and stunning) execution of the moonphase than any of those calibres, but the large case size just seems to be part of GO's design language for the past 10 years or so. Whether a smaller version is possible is likely only know to GO. However, it seems they intentionally make their watches oversized. Everything seems to be XL today.

For some of us, that just makes the current watches too large. So despite really liking the brand, more vintage pieces are preferred to current offerings. I really like the GO pieces from the early 2000s, but that makes me the odd man out. I know I would buy a 40mm or smaller inverse in a heartbeat were such a thing available. Alas, it is not.

Breaking news! According to Glashutte Original, an exhibition caseback is now offered on the 39mm SeaQ. Existing owners can purchase an exhibition caseback, but must send their SeaQ to GO for fitting and adding a matching serial number to the new part. They’ll send the original caseback to you as well.

I’m excited for this upgrade as it was the only thing I felt was “missing” from my SeaQ.

Great decision, Glashutte!

I agree. I was so close to pulling the trigger on the Panoinverse XL over the years. It's just a tad too large looking on my just under 7" wrist. There are so many brands that would increase their sales if they just went a little smaller in diameter on their pieces. 38mm to 40mm seems to be the sweet spot for most consumers preferences.

Added the grey strap (and rubber) last week. Originally purchased on the bracelet. Love the quality of these straps, so much better than other nylon straps out there. I don’t usually say this about brand straps, but this one is worth the premium cost. Also went with the deployant and though I like it a lot I do wish the build was a little more robust, time will tell if it stands up well.

GO is an outstanding brand. They just need to make some better decisions with some of their watches. Adding an exhibition back to the 39mm SeaQ is a good start. Also make some thinner movements which leads to thinner cases.
