Swelling is an indication of a potential problem. Mostly likely worthy of a trip to the doctor.

Hopefully it starts to ease up soon.
Might be time to double think some DIY projects. |

I would only go to a doctor if there is any discoloration or discharge indicative of an infection, loss of motion or painful motion beyond mere skin soreness or unusual pinpoint tenderness, or numbness. Bruises are painful and may take time to heal, but they usually do heal with cold compresses the first 48 hours followed by warm heat to increase blood flow for healing all of which are only done with pain avoidance.

Ouch! That’s rough. Sorry it got you so well.
I did the same with my old BMW a few years back and hit my forearm roughly the same. Just trying to change a serpentine belt on my old BMW on my end. Wrench slipped off the end and I karate chopped the hell out of the radiator/support area.
