These guys must be bloody nuts!!

Hi guys,

Check out the prices of Rolex watches on the Atlantic Time link I've posted below and notice that there is absolutely no difference in prices between the Retail ones and their own prices. Are they nuts or what??

Nuts or clever. With high demand there's no reason for discounts. Or there's a catch. But: are they official Rolex dealers? If not, how do they procure their stock? This is something that always puzzles me

How are you doin' JJ?

Frans.

High demand for older TT DJs? You must be joking!! LOL!!

Dealers should be more than happy to get rid of them asap to make way for the newer versions.

Even the DDs are normally heavily discounted. Can't understand what's happening here. And, NO, they are not Rolex dealers. In fact, I don't think they have a very good reputation.

I'm fine....thanks for asking.

Well, my posts are of such a high and rare quality that each and everyone counts as 10 (I'm modest). So prepare the party 'cause here I come. (Please, no autographs).

Frans.

Bingo, this was another one!

They have a pretty shady reputation, so no wonder JJ was looking at their site.

Aw, come on JJ, just because NZ prices have blipped doesn't mean you have to resort to shopping at Atlantic Time!

They are also famous for not even having in "stock" what they advertise.

I know everyone knocks Atlantic Time, but I have to tell you I bought Arleen's Cartier Declaration from them about a year ago. They had the best price (they beat retail by over $4,000) and they had it in stock when even the Cartier ADs couldn't get it for me (even at retail). The delivery was fast, it came with papers, and the entire transaction was smooth. I do know they ran into problems discounting Rollies and actually had to take them off their site for awhile. I'm actually surprised to see that they are selling them again.

My bro-in-law has bought two watches from them, a Cartier and I think a Bvlguri and both were great deals. But he sent money for a Rolex and then they told him it would be about four to six weeks for delivery, that is where the problem stands for me.

I think it's because of the discounting issue with Rolexes. When they catch a store (wether it be brick & morter or on-line) actually displaying discounts, they take umbrage with that and crack down on the alleged miscreants. That's why they somehow managed to pull Atlantic Time's stock of Rolexes for about a year, AT must have done a deal to list Rolexes at retail, even though they are not an AD, just to be able to offer them. Although at those prices, I doubt they'll get much business, except possibly from folks who can't get to an AD easily.
