So my wife and I have made very good friends with a couple

that is twice as old as us. They are in their mid 50's and we just got back from a very nice night out. I actually became very good friends with their son that is the same age as me and over the last year or so we became very close with his parents.

We call them just like they are any other couple that we are friends with and they are some of the best people we know. They are basically the same age as our parents but they act and seem just like us. The father is a big shot for corporate McDonalds and the wife owns her own insurance company. We went to a very nice restaurant down on the Cape and had a few drinks, then a nice meal then a few more drinks. Then we went to a local bar and listened to some music and had some more drinks. We had a great time and now I'm home thinking how lucky I am to have nice friends like this.

Do you people think its weird that my wife and I have friends like this? They are not swingers or into anything weird its just that we share a love for the Cape and get along really well. When I was out with them I think everyone at the restaurant thought that they were our parents. Talk to me.

Ps. At the moment I am Sh** faced so I may be rambling. If I am tell me so and I will shut up.

I like these people and they feel the same way about us.

Nope, nothing wrong with that. I've had the same patent attorney for almost 20 years and we have become great friends. He is in his early seventies and has children older than me but we get along great and have a wonderful time together.
We have another friend who is older than my mother but will out drink and out dance my wife and I any day of the week.
Enjoy your friends for who they are, not how old they are.

nice you can have friends any age group...
i have a friend who's 94, no kiddin. He fought in World War II, flew airplanes, raced cars, lots of lady friends, expert skiier(not anymore of course), businessman, owned an island(near Lake Placid, NY), and a farm, lots of friends in the arts......has parties with lots of champagne and good food, loves theatre and ballet....conclusion? judge the book by it's contents!

No, definitely nothing wrong with that......we have more laughs with our sons friends than with most of our same age friends, all good fun and the up side for us is it keeps us feeling younger, enjoy

Age should never be a barrier. I get along so well with my grand-children who are young enough to be my...........well, grandchildren!!

I think you should continue with their friendship as long as you guys get along......that's what's really important.

Consider your self lucky with good friends, regardless what age...

A man I consider myself very lucky to call my friend is 89 and although by number he is a life time ahead of me, he is very much in the 'now' and when we talk there is no age difference.

You can have friends at any age. I never thought of this before but the local pool hall I use to hang out, I have met friends twice my age.

I like to chat with them about life and love to here their stories about pool halls and hustlers of the past.

Not at all.
Our best friends are 10-12 years older than us (we've been friends for 20 years now)
Have some great friends we've met at the lake, they are either retired or close to that age.
As you mature, you find that the "friend circle" broadens to include more diverse people.
Just my opinion.
Similar to the people you meet here at TRF. You become friends because you share a passion. Age, location, race, sex etc etc etc does not even cross your mind.
