what is wrong with my watch?

hello, i'm new to the world of watches. that being said, i tried to run a search, but i don't know what to search for terminology wise. a search for "stops ticking" turned up nothing useful for me.

anyway, i recently purchased a brand new classima executive model#8689. i love the way it looks, but the damn thing won't keep ticking! i tried winding 20 times, shaking it but that didn't help. i even tried to run a mile with it on to see if that would keep it running but that didn't help either.

the other thing i noticed is that the big gear doesn't rotate smoothly when i spin the watch in circles. i have to move it to the side pretty forcefully and even then the main rotor looking gear only rotates in the direction i move the watch only to move back in a spring like fashion. is that normal?

TIA for all your help!

That is not normal, at all. Agree with the advice above, take it back to the dealer you bought the watch from, tell them what is happening and they should have an on site technician look at it. If they do not have them on site, they would send it out under warranty for you. Seems like something is out of place in the movement, and again that is not normal. Should be easy for them to fix, so hopefully they do so for you very soon and you can enjoy your watch! Ah, almost forgot, welcome to the watch world!

How long you had it?
Check the condition of the purchase/return etc.
I doubt they'll give you a full refund/replacement since you you've wore the watch already but the watch is covered under warranty assuming that damage is not the result of abuse/misuse.
Good luck.
