Ribbon Band

Gentlemen (and ladies) if you would be so kind as to answer a question. I have an older (old) Rolex, 9ct. with W&D stamping on inner case. It does not have a band... I took it to my local Rolex dealer who said it took a "ribbon band". Now to my question: Can anyone advise what a ribbon band 'is' and where I might find the appropriate one. Thank you in advance for any help.

Can help you but that is a stunner of a dial. Hands are a bit "fancy" for my liking, but the rest is money to me! I'd just put it on a nice piece of leather and enjoy it.

EDIT: I wonder if he meant a NATO band. I could see how it would be called a ribbon as it is essentially a ribbon on nylon. But that watch couldn't have been on a NATO before being gold and all. All AD's don't necessarily know what they hell they are talking about.

you need a two strips of leather sewn to each side ala vintage PANERAI. Great looking watch BTW, not familiar with these models.

I don't want to get technical, but according to chemistry alcohol IS a solution!

The safest place for your watch is on your wrist.
