help in deciding daily wearer (ss)

I bought my Z serial 16613 couple months ago and now in serach of a ss watch as a daily wearer. I can't decide between ym 116622 or gmt2 or ss sub date (16610)

I really like the look of the sub date but want to hold out until new model is released. Love all the GMT2 updates but I think the dial looks too busy.

Ever since getting my first rolex, can't stop wanting to acquire a couple more. please help with the addiction. any input would be much appreciated

I find these types of threads odd...you surely get a watch that you want, not what others recommend, as everyone will give different answers anyway. Go to an AD and try them on whichever feels best and you are happy with then thats the one.

Hmmmmm......makes sense to me; but you must realise that this is a Rolex forum and the guys here are pretty passionate about the brand.

So I guess we could cut them a little slack when they tend to get over-excited and ask for opinions.

End of the day, that's all we are giving - our own opionions - it's up to the person to select what he really likes!!

absolutely - over-excited signals passion to me - as seen when JJ purchased his GMT2c TT recently - I think it's all a part of the joy and a major component of this forum - certainly has been for me...

so Back on Topic - all great choices - for me it would be the GMT2c - no doubt about that - love that watch and is my regular wearer
good luck

Well, for my situation that was not true. I was 90% sure I wanted the YG Daytona with the "all black" dial. However after a poll and opinions from fellow TRFers I ordered the one with the "Paul Newman" dial. Don't forget not everyone has a fully stock AD. Sometimes pictures is all you get, like in my case. When the watch arrived I went to my local AD to compare it with the other dial and boy was I glad I went with my fellow TRFers advice.

The addiction will never stop... my latest tally is 4, and I'm eyeing yet another

I would recommend taking a look at the explorer II. Simple design, functional, and you don't see them as often as some of the other models in the wild. A great daily wearer, imho.

What about a black milgauss? It would go with anything, and is very comfortable for daily wear. It would be the polar opposite to your TT in terms of attracting attention.

My son's godfather has the same one , he wanted it so bad i even put up 40%of the price for him , That's a 28000 USD newman , I was just wearing it monday all day because we traded my SS daytona blackdial for his and i must admit it sure is a diffrent vibe , plus i like AG watches anyway.

I wear a 116520 for a daily watch and find it both durable and comfortable. For years I wore a 16613 like you have and that was fine too for daily use.

GMT II / Exp II are good for every day wear... street and work.

GMT II-c is too dressy for daily wear in my opinion.

The scuffs on the polished center links is enough to put it on weekend duty for me.

Hey thanks for all the insight.

Seems like everyone's crazy for the SS daytona, very sharp lookin watch.
For the YM/GMT2c owners, do you find the center polished links get scratched up too easily??

Depends on what you are looking for in a daily wearer. I usually swap between the 16622 and a 16610lv but consider the lv my "daily wearer" due to the all brushed bracelet and the bezel insert that can be replaced easily if damaged. I do not baby the 16622 but I'm certainly more cautious with the PCLs and bezel than I am with the LV. If I'm mowing the lawn, working on one of my cars, working on my servers in the data center, etc., I want a watch that I forget is even on my wrist.

I will now duck the incoming attacks

As has been stated already....the GMTIIc and the Explorer II would be good choices...I have both.....I love them to bits.....the Explorer II is a black dial and on my wrist right now.....it is very much a "stealth" Rolex and as yet I have not seen another in the wild....I travel and of course it has the "4 hand" complication which is great and gets some use.....I would say if I had to choose between the two as a daily wearer right now it would be the Explorer II.....a great and very under-rated watch imho

I think I am going to go 'pre-owned' Z series sub 16610, then wait for the new sub. Thanks for all the input
