1970 rolex 16014 crystal change from acrylic to sapphire?

Hey all, this has probably been asked before but i couldnt find a similar thread when i searched.

So my question. Is it possible to swap acrylic for sapphire on my 1970 DJ 16014? Would the watch maintain water resistance?

thanks. sorry again if this has been posted before....

I'm pretty sure they cannot be interchanged, as the case is different for each and cannot use a different type.

Could a custom made sapphire crystal be made in place of an older acrylic crystal?
