Time to own a Rolex! Quest begins (Tampa, FL)
It is my opinion that in a man’s (or woman’s) life there are certain milestones that should be met. I believe owning a Rolex is one of those milestones and that is why I joined this group today.
I’m on a quest to purchase my first Rolex! I’m also wise enough to know that the knowledge and experiences of this group will aid me greatly in achieving that quest and hopefully save me a fair amount of money. My present watch, a Krieger Tidal Chronometer I’ve had for twenty years and has served me well; but the time has come! So here I am, canvassing this group for comments, suggestions, and recommendations for my first Rolex. Thank you very much, Steve Davis Islands, Tampa, FL |

I think a nice stainless steel datejust would be ideal for a first purchase. Do your research, and Im sure you will find one that you love. I recently picked up an explorer II. They are reasonably priced used, and a joy to wear.

Evergreen, I'm spoiled! I'm wanting the 16613 or 16713 or 16610LV or.... Along those lines, I'm thinking with $3-5K I should be able to pick up a gem of a watch in the next three-six months.

Quick response, Get a GMT (SS) just to wear, get a Sub (blu TT) for the heck, get a Daytona, (just to be "cool") then get a GMT II C to wear everyday. Selll any Gold thing (watch) it'll make you look and feel OLD (geezer). So, not so quick, aw heck. Also keep a yachtmaster in the drawer, ( hey, never know when the club will call??) Good luck, these are nice timepieces, I'll keep mine. K
