Sudden stiffness in clasp extension on Sub

The joint between the 2-piece clasp extension has a good amount of resistance now. It just started today. It's been loose, I think normal, for the past 7 months since I got it. Is the pin holding them together warped or broken or not line up properly? Has anyone else experienced this?

Have you kept it clean? Give it a once-over.

Well, I guess not. I can try giving it a bath. I just wear the watch to work (office environment) and that's it. Weird.

Many on TRF swear by cleaning theirs regularly. Some attribute "stretch" to dirt getting caught in the links and wearing away material... that's what made me think of that...

Just a thought. I am as far from an expert as one can be.

777, that is indeed a very nice hat!!

Before this thread gets highjacked any further I'd like to say thanks for your help. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't going to break on me. I'd like to take the pin out to clean it thoroughly but it doesn't look like it's easy to remove, probably a good thing.

Sorry about that!!

I did a search and found something that may interest you - I've seen occasional posts on a possible bad run of clasps, but not sure if that applies to your watch. I was hoping one of the experts would chime in!!

It's quite alright. Most of my topics are pretty uninteresting and boring anyway.

Thank You for searching. I have seen this thread before though mine is happening between the 2-piece extensions. It's not broke yet, it's just abnormally tight. I am afraid of it breaking though.

The only thing I have noticed with my SS is that the divers clasp release seems a bit naff.

When I press the small circle to release the divers clasp nothing happens, it just seems locked and very stiff.
