for info rolex air king
hello i am new in this site i collect watch many years juste a fews rolex 5513.6085,6567. i buy today a rolex air king with the ref 6565 6552 but with the cal 1030 and not the 1520 if any body can tel me if is original for this oyster perpetual super precision dating from 1959 with the cal 1030 i buy from an old lady ,everything looks perfect she is not a reseller is from is husband ,so i buy the watch but in my house i look under the hood and i find a beautifull cal 1030 with 5 positions but not the 1520 normally belong for this air king? please any information thanks also is double ref 6565 and 6552 inside the case back.

Hi and welcome.
I'm a bit out of my league here, padi and some of the experts can give you a lot more information I'm sure. I believe that's a correct movement for a 6552. Does it look like this? It's my understanding these were made for the Canadian market. The 1030 movement is capable of outstanding accuracy, however Rolex in the USA won't service these movements (don't know about Canada). My guess is there should be independents that would be able to service if it becomes necessary. |

air king with cal 1030
yes mister there exactly this model ,colors dial .. the only difference is with double ref inside the case say 6565 and 6552 and the cal 1030 so maybe you right is for the canadian market thanks .

Well both the 6565 and the 6552 date from the early 50s with the cal 1030, and quite common at these times to see double ref on inside case backs
