yellow gold is easy to fix, white gold is very hard,
the minimum amount of re fixing is about 1500$,

Thanx Ben

they would try to sell you a new bracelett for 10k and up,
i don't think that they accept this bracelett for servicing, and if they would do that , lol no idea what they're asking for 3k upwards???

good idea, you pay about 1000€ for a 18k yellow gold model, as much as a service for your old one

I suggest that you contact Michael Young at www.classicwatchparts.com

Back in 1995, the RSC in NY refused to touch my band when I took my circa 1979 bark finish Day-Date watch to be serviced. They removed the band from my watch and handed it back to me before I left my watch to be serviced. They said the band was worn out and wanted to sell me a new band for $6250. A recent quote from them for a new bark finish band was $8750.

Earlier this year, I sent my YG bark finish President band to Michael Young for repair. My band was tightened using all of the original parts except for the pins holding the links together. Those were all replaced. I think that the tightness of my band is now 92-97% as compared to when it was new. There is some slight wear on the hollow center links or my band would be 100% as tight as new. I am thrilled with the results.

I do not know how bad your band is, but mine was pretty loose. I had removed two links over the years in order for the watch to fit properly. Michael added those two links back and the band now fits exactly as it did when it was new.

Michael will ask you to send pictures of your band and give you a quote. The only extra cost will be the shipping both ways. Depending on how busy he is, it could take around 6-8 weeks from the time he receives it until it is ready to be returned. I do not want to post the actual cost to repair my band as every band is different and Michael will tell you what he will charge you to repair yours. However, I will say that it was within range of $1000.

I found out about Michael Young through recommendations on this site as well as on a vintage Rolex site. He comes highly recommended.

DISCLAIMER: I have no financial interest in recommending Michael Young. I am only a very satisfied customer.
