Gilt dial GMT...........
I recently had my question about what a "stick" dial is and now I am wondering what a "gilt" dial is on a GMT. I may have the opportunity to buy a 2 million series GMT from its original owner, a Vietnam era pilot.
What were the variations available in the GMT at that time and what should I look for if anything? Any advice, and counsel is appreciated. Thank you, Steve |

Others will come in with lots of advice but I think the best advice I can give is try to get a pic of the watch and post it here.
It will help others determine its value etc. Of course someone else will be able to fill you in on the variations of the GMT at that period here as well :)

That serial number is going to be a tad late for a gilt dial.

As Mike noted, 2 million is way past the point for gilt dials. That would be 1967/78 vintage and they were long gone from production by then. But, as we've seen before, anything could be possible from Rolex.
