Yeah when I went to look at the DJII at my local AD that was the first thing I spotted as compared to my milgauss...the crown just looks way too small for the watch imo....until you flip it sideways and realize the case is just not nearly as thick as the milgauss. The faraday really makes a difference in the thickness of the milgauss. Compared with a GMTIIc, Sub, and DJ it is way thicker and is what drew me to it. It also feels a lot heavier to me as compared to the stainless versions of the afforementioned. The very shiny bezel on the DJ helps with the presence factor though as it really makes that model wear larger than it looks.
