Never happened to me. Even if the clasp is defective, no reason why the Rolex should slip off the wrist completely and fall to the floor. The bracelet should still hang on to the wrist.

Your boss needs to take the DD in to his AD and have that clasp fixed.

If it was a TT DD for an AD,or even if it wasn't a TT DD than a SS DD could still be done by a US AD.OK

I don't know a US AD that carries a TT DD or even an SS DD. The only DDs I've seen have been YG DD, RG DD, WG DD, and Pt DD.

Now I have seen SS DJs, TT DJs, even YG DJs.

Then of course, there's the SS TOG, the SS GMT, TT GMT, and YG GMT.

An old girlfriend's brother had a DJ and said that when he was sailing in Lake Ontario, the bracelet failed and it fell off, and into the abyss. Lost forever.

He's not sure how it happened, but I'd guess either a springbar let go or one of his bracelet screws loosened enough without him noticing that it failed.

He made a claim on insurance and voila, new watch (less deductible).

My girlfriend's Rolex's clasp kept popping loose. A quick stop by the AD and the problem was solved within about 2 minutes, no charge. Great service. Tell the boss to go the AD for a quick repair.

JJ, I know how to tighten my clasp. I had a DD before and I tightened that too. Some people try to draw attention by having there watch loose on the wrist. Not loose on the sheep

I think JJ has a TT from a AD in NZ.

As good as the hidden clasp looks on the DJ, my only worry is it's ability to stay tight over time. Obviously, there is no safety lock and it is still a '"friction" type clasp. It would make sense that at some point the connecting parts on the clasp will wear down enough to effect it's functioning. My DJ is too new to worry about anything wearing out now but I have thought about the clasp. I have not heard of these clasps failing anyone yet so I may be worrying for nothing.

Just slightly bend the side of the open clasp that connects to the band outer clasp, not the bracelet itself. That's the way the AD will do it.

The colour of the gold will match the rest of the bracelet. If it's a rose gold bracelet, then yes the clasp will be rose gold. Yellow would have a yellow gold clasp.

I thought that could only be done on the old style DJ clasps, as well as the Subs and other sports models. The clasps are stamped on those so they are easy to bend. The new style clasps are much thicker and I would think it would be kind of tricky to try and slightly bend them.

It's okay, you don't have to believe me if you don't want to.

I would personally think it's not an original clasp to the watch, but YMMV.

Can we see a picture of the clasp? Surprising that a YG bracelet should have a RG clasp!!
