bracelet and value
i have, what i am learning is a somewhat rare and valuable drsd. i bought the watch new in 1976. after reading almost every post under vintage rolex
it seems that having all original equipment is the optimum. i have trashed at least one band ( bracelet) and the one that is on my watch now is a (vd) which i had replaced in germany in the late 70s. according to greekbums very informative post is a 1979 . does this lessen the value of my watch and if so to what degree? thanks for any beta. |

The value of any vintage Rolex is mostly in the dial and hands.. overall case condition is then next followed by the bracelet. A period correct replacement bracelet is generally not going to reduce the value by any appreciable amount..

if you mean the watch there are some photos on a couple of my other posts, these however don't show the bracelet very well. i will try to get some shots of the bracelet. thanks to all for the invaluable information.

Double Reds are worth from 20 to 35 thousand bucks... You can buy a lot of new ones for that...

i understand that the drsd is worth a lot . i havn't worn this or any watch except for athletic timing for years. now that i realize what i have i am very leary about wearing it . how often do these sell and how difficult is it to get the full worth out of a watch. thanks.
