What is a rivet bracelet?

I remember hearing something about a rivet bracelet. Can anyone tell me what it is? I've never a vintage Rolex on one.

Rivet expandable bracelet used on Rolexes in the '50s and '60s.
Google Rolex rivet bracelet!

Does that have a date of 1-71 on the clasp?

Thanks guys! By the way, I meant to say I've never "seen" a vintage Rolex on one.

From timekeeper:

"There's not much information regarding the Rolex USA C&I riveted bracelet, so I thought I'd post what little information I was able to drag up during my own personal research.

The C&I bracelet is very similar to the ref. 7206 bracelet. The C&I bracelet was made in the USA, so Rolex could save money by not paying import taxes on them.

The C&I bracelet, as well as its endlinks, have no stamped reference numbers. It also contains no decorations on the clasp blades, whereas the 7206 does. The only markings on the C&I bracelet are on the inner clasp blade. These marking are: a Rolex USA stamp, a small Rolex coronet, a C&I stamp, and a date of manufature. Another difference between these two bracelets is that the C&I rivet ends are hollow, whereas the 7206 rivet ends are solid."

I don't want to get technical, but according to chemistry alcohol IS a solution!
