All Gold / TT Exp II?

a lot has been said about the new SS Sub Ceramic that's going to be introduced this year.. Whether true or not, it's anybody's guess till it really comes out.
I've also read (on some thread) that Rolex usually comes out with Gold and TT versions 1st before they bring out the SS versions (again that's why there's a lot of talk about the new SS Sub Ceramic)..
A lot too have speculated that the Exp II will also be updated - case, maxi dial, etc.
Having said that, would it be possible that Rolex introduces an updated Exp II but this time in All Gold / TT versions 1st?
Man, i'm so used to the Exp II - black face or snow white - in SS version. It'd be quite intriguing to see it in Gold / TT.. In the past, were there All Gold / TT Exps?
Your thoughts?

I'd like an updated Exp II in gold, with a white dial of course.

many would argue that the Exp is a tool watch... but so is the sub and YM and both have All Gold and TT versions...

After the PCLs on the GMT and Milgauss (both considered Tool Watches), I would no longer be surpised if Rolex launched a TT or YG Explorer II.

I hope not. I really like the beauty and statement that the SS EXP II makes.

Explorer/Explorer-II have never been produced in gold, and I doubt that will change.

I don't see a TT/AG Explorer to be coming. But I sure hope Rolex would roll out an updated SS Explorer II (maxi-dial + maxi-case + updated bracelet/clasp) in Basel 2010.

I think it unlikely, I favor the EXP-II as is. I think YG would look nice but the only "upgrade" I would like to see is an Orange Hand like a McQueen.

The Explorer II is advertised as their tool watch. The advertise people climbing mountains etc. wearing the watch. An all gold or TT would not do well in the mountains. Highly doubtful Rolex would go this direction.

What do you figure the ratio is between mountian climbing/cave exploring, Exp II owners, compared to regular people with money to spend? They make all gold Subs for people that never go near water.

I doubt it, but I sure wish Rolex would start offering some of the other models in AG and even Platinum, Tell me a WG GMT wouldn't be a popular model!

X2

would still look "weird" though... but maybe at first since we're all used to the exp in SS...

Yes, totally agree. Personally, I would like to see Rolex make a TT and full-gold Exp II simply because it gives consumers more choices.

Realistically though, I doubt we'll see such watches because I'm guessing Rolex issues gold and TT sports watches based on popularity and the Exp II has traditionally been less popular than the other models.

It'll be nice if someone can photoshop a TT Exp II Polar.

I'm hoping maybe somebody here could "photoshop" an Exp II in TT or gold, so we could see what it would look like. I don't have the program, don't know how, and can't figure out how to post photos here yet without some study.
