Thinking of Selling SS Daytona...

Hey All!

Unfortunately it may be time for my to let go of my daytona : (

I'll Prob put it up here on the forum first but have never sold a watch online before. How is it done generally as far as payment/shipment and every ones safety?

Also, what is the going rate for a pre loved SS Daytona (white)?

Less than a year old with box/card/etc.

I'll still have my sub!

About one million dollars; bring the watch to the corner of N13 Street and Little Street in Newark. I work days so it will have to be at night. I am an honest buyer and will bring cash.

I have been looking for a used Daytona for a while now once you have talked to some people here and decide on a price and what you would want to do with the sale to be comfortable let me know.

I think the best way is only sell via PayPal and ONLY ship to a confirmed address once payment clears into your account. Then, only ship via USPS Registered as they offer insurance up to $25,000. It's really not that difficult. Just be ready to provide some type of references :)

sorry to hear as it seems that it's a reluctant but necessary sale? Seems like good advice from Jason above. In terms of price...have a look around the FS section and elsewhere on line and go from there. Good luck

I have seen them on the interweb for $9,250 used in like new condition. Figure you could sell it to a dealer for about $5,500 or so, take it to one and ask, so you can get a price in that range.

thanks for the replies so far!

i guess my main question is, how much value does a ss daytona lose? i really have no idea what to ask for it. i poked around the classifieds a bit but the only ones that i saw were new. i'll look further into it...

realist, i'll definitely stay in touch. being in ct, you'd be welcome to come look at it/pick it up in person.

I think $9000~ +/- $500 given the condition is a fair starting price. The SS Daytona is a highly sought after watch and you should have no problem moving it.

That is the maxim price from a 100% trusted brick and mortar seller.

To the OP so you don't want to meet on a street corner in Newark?

There have been handfuls of BNIB SS Daytonas going for over $10k on here. They are hard as hell to get a hold of.

OK this is not BNIB; a gray market seller is offering to buy one in that condition for $9,850. I do agree they are a hot item now.

Daytonas are still one of the most sought after watches in the world, its a shame you have to sell yours, but if you really do have to sell, it will sell quickly.

In the Uk a friend of mine has a 2007 watch and a dealer (david duggan) offered him £5800 providing the watch was complete which is close on 9000 US$ so i think you could get somewhere in that region, which would be fantastic for you.

So anything between 9 - 10 K is about the going rate.

good luck and i am sure an opportunity will come again for you to get another one at a later date.

Fair

I think $9250 to $9600 can be done.

PayPal payments can be disputed and reversed. Accept payment by bank wire transfer, once its verified in your account it can't be reversed.

SS Daytonas can be found in AD's showcases now, so around the low $9K range would be right.

here is a picture taken on my iphone. sorry for the quality! once i get it up in the for sale section i'll included some higher quality pictures. looking at my records it was bought in july of 2009 and is an updated (clasp) m series. seems the going rate is agreed in the low 9's. if anyone wants to pm with offers feel free. otherwise i should get it up in the FS section in the next few days.
