I think you handled it perfectly!
Just leveling with people and laying the cards out on the table is always way more effective then any other method! |

I would be upset, but I am sure that these types of things occur all of the time.

Remember that there is greater profit from jewelry than watches at most of these ADs. If someone wants a Daytona and their wife is there buying an expensive diamond bracelet - well, you see who's going to get the Daytona...
I'm not saying it's right, just what happens. Perhaps those two 'other' people do more business or happened to buy other higher profit margin items recently (or that day). ADs are there to make money - that's it.

I bought my 16610 a couple of months ago. It was definitely the last one in Northern Nevada. The AD told me it was reserved for someone. zI offered cash and it was mine.
Was this just a sales technique to get me to buy? Who cares? I walked out the door with my new Sub the same day. |

why would you pay full retail and be relegated to a list anyway......you can get bnib ss daytonas all day long on this forum. you now see that the ADs are only out for themselves but on this forum, WE ARE BROTHERS TAKIN CARE OF EACH OTHER!!! Eliminate that middle man and buy from here and you wont be sorry.

You gotta wonder. Did they pay more than you did, or less?

I saw an SS, white dial sit in stock for MONTHS. We went through the whole "list" (it wasn't that long and no one had a cash deposit) and no one bit. We showed it to anyone who was halfway interested. Eventually someone bought it over the counter.
Not 2 weeks later, a client wanted one NOW. They missed out on the one that had sat for a while. It was for a holiday gift so there was a deadline. We had one in stock the NEXT WEEK. Usually you are lucky to get one a year, and one phone call got us one immediately. Bit odd, don't you think? This is supposed to be something made of unobtanium. |

They were simply wrong to treat you that way. You should consider finding another who appreciates your business and you as a person.

Sorry to hear about it and I think it is unfair. I am on the wait list as well and my AD has promised me that the next one coming in will be mine..Hope it really does.

Hmm...its not necessarily proper treatment, its unfair, bu....its life, and its business. They tried to make it right after you found out, and that counts for something, no?? Maybe just let it go and enjoy the watch?!!
