So Andie and Dylan were out of town....(Modem Burner)

...and I was bored so I decided to darken and distress one of my straps. I was going after the vintage look and I am quite pleased with the results. I am wearing the strap as I type. It is super soft and very comfortable.
The light tan strap in the back in the project.

Here is the first stage, some baseball glove oil, a few seconds in the microwave and overnight to dry. Still not dark enough to really go with.

After drying it was ready so I got a bit a sandpaper, then more oil and finally a coat of mink oil to seal and waterproof it. The finished product, VIOLA. It is now an instant favorite of my collection. It is amazing what I do when I am bored, maybe I should start drinking again.

I think it's now time for an original SS bracelet, Daren. That should just about complete and compliment the entire ensemble.

Thanks alot guys, appreciate the kind words. I really do like this strap and I forsee it getting alot of playing time, although I do have a couple more coming in this week.

Good to see you Bruce and JJ, these watches look good on bracelets but are meant to be worn on straps, MHO.

Good Job!

I like picture number 3.
It looks like a snake. Or something.

Daren, good job and great pix.

Funny... there is a HUGE difference between owning a Rolex and owning a Panny. Most Rolex owners (myself included) want to ensure the thing stays as pristine as possible. Yet Panny owners will go out of their way to um... modify their straps to look worn and patinaed (while trying to keep the highly polished case as pristine as possible).

Just a funny observation.
