Goodbye Rolex forums -
Frankly, I enjoyed my time here quite a bit, I have purchased my 16610, and now this paticular forum is becomming annoying. It seems too many people love Rolex because it says ROLEX and no other good reason IMO. It's fine, but does not fall in line with my way of thinking. I am not a brand whore of any kind and I honestly think many of the new Rolex watches are abominations and would not be caught dead wearing most of them. Anyhoo, to each there own. Happiness in all future pursuits and I bid you all adeu.

I think that for many people the cost of buying a Rolex, or any other major brand is so high, that in order to justify the differential over a Luminox, Timex, etc it is important to feel that the watch represents a wise "investment" a better "quality" watch, or something that justifies the cost. I think this is what the "brand wars" are about. I wouldn't let that annoy you.
However, I did get off of all the watch boards for a while when I was trying to stop myself from buying more watches, and I may join you for THAT reason. Seems like the more time one posts about watches and looks at what's new from Basel, and what others are flipping into and out of, the more temptation to buy yet more watches becomes. Great that you love your sub, and are ready to move on. But I'll bet you're back at some point. Hard to really leave permanently, I think. |

I love it when people announce they're leaving....Just leave, why make a scene and post your reasoning?
