FS: 1967 Submariner 5513 meters first, all original, special forces used

Up for sale is a superb, and classic all original 1967 Rolex Submariner Ref 5513 from 1967 (1.64 mill serial number).

I purchased this watch from the original owner, a special forces United States Marine in November 2009. As one can see from the attached letter, this 5513 has an incredible combat military pedigree and still bears the original battle scars from same. The gentleman (name withheld to preserve privacy) served five tours of duty in Viet Nam as well as a number of "undislosed" covert missions around the world. Again referencing the attached letter from the original owner, this 5513 was worn behind enemy lines, in parachute drops, and even in a submariner torpedo insertion. I am happy to provide a picture of the full letter (w/ name of vet) to those seriously interested in purchasing the watch.

While this is not a mil-sub, I would submit that this watch has a greater military history than the vast majority of actual mil-subs and, at least to me, is what a military watch is all about.

As to a description of the watch itself, please note that the watch retains its original, untouched meters first dial, nicely yellowed original handset, and slightly faded fat font insert & bezel (w/ intact orig tritium pearl). The superdome also appears original as it is of the original shape (as opposed to the straight sided variety provided now) but may have been replaced in the past. Same with the crown... it is of the correct twin lock variety but may have been replaced sometime in the past. As one can see by the myriad of pics that I have supplied, the case does not appear to have ever been polished and those classic deep chamfers are still present! As with all original '67 Subs that I have personally seen, the markers on the dial have aged withn a slight greenish tint. I believe this is typical of the tritium mixture used in 1967.

The watch has NOT been serviced since I have owned it and runs a bit fast. Also the bezel turns but stiffly. I have not popped it off
