GMTIIc Power Reserve Test

Just concluded a power reserve test of my GMCIIc M serial-

Beginning with the watch at a dead stop, I wound the stem 45 turns, then left it sitting face up, without moving it, at average temperature of 70 degrees F

Start 19:45:00 April 22nd
Stop 18:52:03pm April 24th

47 hours, 07 minutes 03 seconds

Will do exact same test with all my watches.

Am curious if other TRF members get similar results....

That's a cool test, almost two whole days.....pretty good....I am planning on doing these tests as well on mine, waiting for a Tudor to arrive with the Valjoux 7750 movement and I am doing the test on that for definite, the power reserve is quoted at between 40 and 45 hours so I am interested to see....I also have a GMT IIc so I will do it on that too.....and probably the others as well......interesting

I was also surprised at how little difference running the chrono made. Previous posts I had read were talking about a 20% power reduction.

Todd

I posted my results to JJ's thread, which stimulated me.
Next, will do each of my Daytonas separately, then each of my IWCs separately. The Cartier which has a Valjous movement, and finally the DATEJUST.

As I keep going, I think it will get even more interesting, when finally I get to the pocketwatch that I inherited from my grandfather (serviced within the past 5 years I think).

That is a fair result, but you might want to carry out the test again. You should have got closer to 48 hours.

JJ would be proud...

I just finished my new GMTIIC timing test:

Started Saturday 4/24 at 12:00 noon
it stopped Monday 4/26 @ 11:43:38 a.m.

According to my calculations about 47 hours, 44 minutes.....not bad.
