This is tricky Larry .... If we discuss fakes it would be against TRF rules . So based on that I would think they are all good . Only that last one has the wrong scroll work IMHO and that 93520 ref ????

The last clasp has SWISSMADE, all one word. Also, it has the swirls identical on both sides of the crown above ROLEX. Normally the swirls are different on both sides.

Clasp 1 has the wrong part no. ending in 3 which is for a Steel/Gold model.............whereas the bracelet appears to be ALL steel.

Larry
After reviewing the five clasps, several issues came up, this is what I have come to the conclusion of: Clasp 1 Two tone clasp for a SS bracelet Clasp 2 Not a two tone clasp for a gold colored/SS band from 2002. Clasp 3 Seems to be fine from 1982. Clasp 4 Seems to be fine. Clasp 5 Rolex is offset to the right in the clasp. Two tone bracelet with a SS clasp.[IMG]http://i484.photobucket.com/albums/rr202/WatchWorkshop/Junk/Clasp5.jpg[/IMG |

Agreed. I would also note though that the first clasp also has the word SWISSMADE all in one word.

It's about the discussion of the merits/pitfalls of fakes vs real that lead to the issues...

Ok i'll play
1) SWISSMADE: one word, STEELINOX: terrible printing especially the X, J: "burried" in the metal, indications for TT and gold together in a SS bracellet 2) Good for 16713 3) I think Good. It bothers me that there in no month indication. 4) Good for 16610 or 16660 5) SWISSMADE: one word, STEELINOX: not good printing, DE6: terrible spacing, 93250 and not 93520, The right swirl next to crown shoud be up and not facing each other (the 2 lines) and wrong ref for TT bracelet |

This has been a good thread for me to learn on. Thanks Tools for doing this. I studied the details very close before reading any comments. I was proud of myself for noticing SWISSMADE in one word, and the last one had the swirl on the right side that wasn't correct. I need a good link to referance buckle info for sure. I'm glad you posted uniform pictures so there was no dead give away. GOOD THREAD!

They must be all genuine, else "Dirty Larry" will have to be hung, drawn and quartered for flagrant breach of the TRF rules.

Through the years the coronet on the dial has changed in size and shape. The clasps, I honestly have paid little attention to. However, clasp 4 is the only one that resembles the quality of the engraving and stamping visible on my Explorer Z series clasp.
I really have no idea, except that some of those look pretty lousy. |
