Two of my Rolexes come from the gray market. As I am cautious about the source of the rolex or any watch in particular from the gray market, I paid a small "tranaction fee" have to have both pieces authenticated at the local RSC.
A quick check through the RSC database (I assume they do check) would at least be reassuring for me that to learn that the watch is both genuine and does not fall under the "hot list". It also helps in term of paper trail since you would be captured as the most recent person to handle (and technically own) the watch. The date captured on such document would be crucial in disputing the ownership of the watch. I could be wrong. Just my two cents worth :) |
