Do you find white face or black more common in your AD?

That I don't know, I don't normally get to see the watches in question It's normally a case of the watch arriving, the customer being called, and the watch being picked up, the whole process usually only takes a couple of days. I'm only in relatively infrequently

I wonder how a large chain AD, like Ben Bridge, which has 75 locations primarily in the western USA, allocates its inventory. I'm sure they receive good quantities from Rolex, do they dole them out as requested to the stores or does each store have an "allocation" within the BB system?

Right now you can buy and SS model from any grey dealer, and yes pay more than MSRP for a used watch. The point is they are available every where.

Call all four in Toronto. Just got mine for $11,500 all in. One wanted full retail, another said come in and we'll talk and third said $12,000 cash. They all had the SS in stock.

Wait is over my friends...

I've seen a ss white in the outer sidewalk display window
of an AD once in the SF Bay area.
I had to go in and ask to see it to make sure.

That dealer has 3 locations and recently I was at one of
them and they told me there other store has one
for sale. Apparently they do not have a "waiting list"
but just put it out for first come first serve.

Another big dealer told me they get about a dozen a year.

I think some dealers get one in and call from their
list. Others may keep one on hand ready for when an elite
customer just happens by.

ADs offer me stainless Daytonas with some frequency, but I don't want one. Meanwhile, people who love them can't find them. What a silly arrangement.

i would never, ever give my business to a dealer who tried to jerk me around...

on an artificially 'rare', or 'hard to get' item. I've had one of each SS Daytona, just by dealing in good faith with dealers, and I got a (small) discount on each of them. These watches are nice, but no BFD. I finally decided the dial is too bizzy for me, I'd rather wear something simpler. When I sold them, I sold them for no 'profit' whatever. I'm not a Philistine. I think most of the cachet of this watch is the artificially-created difficulty in obtaining one.

Perhaps. The margins are slim, there are tax issues, and it's a fair amount of hassle.

It seems whenever I'm not in the market for something I find it everywhere.

A couple of years ago they were listing at 7800.... today they list at 9950. Rolex must be doing something right if they can increase in cost in a depressed economy and people still line up in the stores to buy them.......

The Dealers around here have plenty of Daytonas on display, but if they put a SS on display, it would be gone within minutes...and nobody would be asking for a discount on it.......

I think that too...until I look at mine and realize how GREAT looking the watch is!

To each their own!
