Wg ymii

hi, have tryed on the new WG YMII and i love it. but the $49K AUD price is a bit steep.
does anyone have one? any thoughts? how is it to live with?? im never going to be using it to countdown regatas or anything like that i just love the look and the functionallity of the watch.
i am thinking it will possibly be the next and maybe last for a VERY long time.i have read only a few reviews on it cant find to many, im assuming not too many people have one as they are quite expensive.
any info on it would be great

Great watch .. if it wasn't for that price tag I would be telling you exactly how it is to live with . Don't expect a multi page thread with answers to that question for the exact same reason . I know that we have a member with the YG version .

Tried it on also and while I thought it was interesting, for that price point there are a LOT of other options I would prefer.

From Rolex:
- WG Sub
- WG Daytona in any dial config
- YG GMT IIc w/ black or green dial
- Day-Date I/II

Patek:
- Aquanaut (recently purchased one w/ SS bracelet and LOVE it. they also make a rose gold version with a dark brown composite "rubber" deployment strap that is pretty)
- Nautilus (if you can stand the "wings")

And of course you have your AP, VC, etc. Not to talk you out of purchasing a Rolex, but I see the YM II as being one of those watches you buy when you have everything else. Rolex makes some fantastic watches and I own more of those than any other brand, but for that kind of coin I would be just as happy owning the Plat/SS YM (which I do) and purchasing another time piece like a sportier Patek or AP that can be worn in rain, sleet, snow, or sun.

I don't own one, but I have had the opportunity to get to grips with one in the past. From a technological point of view, it's in a league of it's own compared to other Rolex models in my opinion. The movement is quite simply the most incredible piece of engineering available in the range, and is truly unique. The styling isn't for everyone, but I think it works really well in WG, plus you have the benefit of it being a truly rare and exclusive Rolex, something that can't really be said for anything much in the rest of the line up.

If you can afford it, then I really don't think you'll regret it

Had a YG clown on for about 30 mins. Interesting watch heavy as hell... Did not buy it even though I had stayed in an Holiday Inn Express the night before...
