It's a DCT. Basically an automatic manual with two clutches. It shifts 0.1 seconds faster than a manual tran. I really love it because you can put it in full auto mode and it's real smooth or manual mode for more sporty driving.

It's a sickness far worse than watches for me.

Me too, Bruno, maybe we'll show up on the "Intervention" program for people addicted to Beemers. Withdrawal will be hell, and no sneaking out at night for a fix at the local dealership.

Incidentally, those E34s are possibly the best value used luxury sedan on the market.
In addition to my M5 I have a 94' E34 530i, and I have to agree with the above, it's at 136k miles and still runs like a champ with no warning lights/everything works. I love it.
