update on my watches...back from Dallas
If some of you remember I had to send in my SD and my wifes DJ in for loosing and gaining time....well the wifes came back last week....looks as if they did NO polishing non it....still has the desk scratches it had in it when it left. They gave no description of what was wrong with it or anything. I just got the call that mine is back today so I will pick it up in a bit. I hope they will have done more to mine....they called at 1 point and said that it was within specs and wanted to wear it for 30 days to see how it acted...I hope is doesn't come back with more scratches than it left with. Will let you all know how it came out.....

Roy, IMHO...if the scratches are just faint....leave it be....too much polishing takes off metal....& on gold even more.

Sounds like very poor service to me... at least they could have offered to polish them for you!

Doesn't the RSC polish only when doing a complete service? I don't believe that they polish during a regulation.

That is correct, it's not poor service. If you asked them to touch it up, they would have at no charge, but it sounds like you did not. The FULL polish is only done when you have the full 5 year service on the watch. Dallas has always done a great job for me over the years, and have been very kind. I feel I have to defend their honor.

And STOP worrying about how you watch will turn out, Dallas is great! Don't worry! You have my word, it will be fine! And lastly, I agree, I do not like the secrecy, tell me what was wrong with my watch! But all the RSC's do this. What's the big deal? Just tell me what broke. I guess they think we, as customers, don't care, just that it's fixed. But I being a watch nut, would like to know exactly what they did and why. |

Got my SD picked up. It looks great...they did do a light polish on mine but didn't do it on my wifes DJ...which is fine I guess since it is a 2 tone. All in all I guess they did an ok job. I m just happy that they are both running like they should be now. I wonder if that extended my 2 year warranty on both watches??? Anyone know? And im not to sure but they did send me a new polishing cloth and a small green bag to keep them in. that has the Rolex name stamped in them!

I find that if your in the slightest bit worried about what they will actually do to your watch or your a bit of a perfectionist then its best to call the RSC when they have your watch. They will discuss what they plan to do and you can either agree or disagree.
Also I find that you have to push quite hard to get them to tell you what was actually wrong with the watch. |

I just cannot understand why any watch has got to be sent back to the RSC for such a simple thing as regulation.A few ADs that have a in-house watchmaker or like the RSC London will do while you wait take less than 30 minutes start to finish.

I agree, I've been in several AD's who do simple regulations, light polishing, and other "service" procedures in house and quickly.

Unless under warranty, then they cannot do it/open your Rolex, or your USA warranty is void. Might be different in Europe, but I doubt it. Had to send my new Subbie to be regulated, no AD would touch it, as they said my warranty would be voided by Rolex.

That's interesting since I had one of my watches, which is still under warranty, regulated last week by my local AD. They made no mention of warranty possibly being voided, and did not charge for the service.

Sorry can't quote on iPhone,
But Atl, your not entirely correct if the AD has a authorized Rolex techy on site then a regulation can be performed and the warranty remains but if it's just a watchmaker employed by the AD then the warranty will be void if the caseback is removed :) hope that clears it up. |

Same thing my AD told me also. If watch is under warrenty it goes right back to Rolex USA..for me that would be 5th Avenue.
