Deep Sea Crystal
Well, I have had my Deep Sea for about a couple of weeks, wearing it everyday and really enjoying the watch. I was looking at the crystal today and thought i saw a speck of dust. Washed it off but it would not come off. When i got home, i looked at it under 10x magnification and sure enough, I scratched it. Now I do remember hitting something with my arm but I am surprised that I could do this as i dont recall being able to scratch many of my sapphire crystals. You have to really look at it carefully under magnfication to really see it. I want to wear the watch and am not going to leave it in the box for fear of scratching it but I am wondering if anyone has done this with one of their rolex sport watches. I believe that the deep sea has a very thick crystal so i was surprised that it happened. Anyone else had a similar experience with this watch or other sapphire crystal rolex sports watches? thanks stephen

Are you sure it is a scratch and not a hair or other speck that may have been trapped under the crystal during production? I have some old old uber beater watches with sapphire crystals and not a single scratch. My Deepsea, so far, is scratch-less as well. Did you bang it against someone's engagement ring? That'll do it.

Deep Sea Crystal
I did bang it but not heavily and not on a diamond. It is definitely a scratch. To the naked eye, it looks like a speck of dust but you have to be looking for it to really notice it. Under the loupe, i can see that it is actually a scratch.
