Rolex Purchase Advice

Hey All,

I'm gonna hit some AD's this weekend in my quest for a Rolex Deepsea. It seems that 15% off of the MSRP seems to be the norm for the Deepsea. Can anyone tell me the best way to get a great price? Call them first or walk in cold? I got 4 or 5 AD's I can go to, so I'm gonna hold out for an amazing price.
I plan to pay in cash hoping that will tempt the AD into giving me the best deal possible.
Any thoughts would be very helpful....and I if I can score the Deepsea, I will post pics of all the spoils!! (Watch,Tags,Etc)

Something to keep in mind. Currently there are a couple of Deepsea in our FS under $7K. When purchasing in your area, you will have to pay tax, consider that in your price. OR go out of state and have them ship you the watch. Cash may help you about 2% because of the credit card charge.

Best of luck!

Let us know how it goes!

Are you sure an AD will give you a fat discount on a Rolex sports model? Don't be so sure, especially not in NYC. I tried this last year, so it might be different now, but I was told there were absolutely no discounts on Rolex sports models. I went to Wempe on Fifth Avenue and both Tourneau stores. The best they would offer was to ship the watch out of state, to a relative's house in Connecticut, to save me the NY tax. Big deal.

Of course, Those AD's are tough to get a discount cause they get tons of foot traffic in their stores and they don't need to discount their watches. Yes, Rolex SS sports models general never get any discount,However, it seems that the deepsea is in a class by itself. It seems that AD's are willing to discount the deepsea.

if you can get 15% off i would say go do it. that discount will help with taxes for sure. but anything less than that, the for sale section here is a GREAT place to review!

good luck!!! and have a great holiday weekend.

You should be able to do better than that. I got a pretty good deal last week on my new Rolex. Send me a PM if you can't find an AD willing to give you a good deal.

Look at it another way and forget the word discount etc. How much do you want to pay out the door? Now that you have your number go to AD's with cash and ask to speak to the manager or owner and tell him and yes show him you have cash(they here this BS all the time and than plastic etc tomorrow come into the picture) you know exactly what you want and are ready to buy right now on the spot and this is what you want to pay can he do it? It does not matter if you have ever stepped foot in there efore etc he knows you have cash and there is no games its up to him if he wants to move the watch since he is the decision maker. You will know right than and there.Time is money and if you have all the time you can save some money.
Good Luck
