Thoughts on 292

my local dealer called, he has a 292 minus the pig. I like the watch, but he called me because he knows I have interest in the 339 coming out. I like the 292 and he'll sell it at retail plus a good deal on some diamonds for my wife. Should I 1) hold out and hope I can get a 339 for retail, 2)save some dough gets a 292 with a pig, or 3) grab the 292 without the pig and be happy?

well..it depends on how realistic your AD is about you getting a 339?
I had the same offer made to me but I pass knowing that my AD warned that the 339 will be very hard to get...
besides..the 292 is readily available for less than MSRP...
if you like the 292..get it..but don't get it as a 339 replacement...

When it comes to panerai one on the wrist is better than two in the bush. I recently picked up my non pig 292 and really like it. I asked for one with a pig years ago but I was told this was the only 292 they have received. It has a good clean look and could not pass it up.

If the 339 is likely, then I would hang out for that. Otherwise, the non-PIG 292 (the little sub thingy not a big deal for me - not for the extra $$$ anyway)

Cheers

I had one for a day.... it's a great watch, but I had to go with my gut and swap it for the Daytona SS Black.

It looks even better with a brown strap.

Are the "pigs" still coming out to dealers / boutiques? Or are they done - non-pig only now?

definitely go for the 339 at MSRP. if not, then go for the 292. Which 292? that depends. if you are a collector and value being rare as more important, then go with pig 292. if you are a wearer, then go with non-pig 292 and then use the money saved for your next PAM.

Just my $0.02
