Caliber movements?
What is the Caliber movement for a GMT II and Explorer II ?
I know a Sub Date and Date Just is cal. 3135 ? EXP 1, Air King, and Sub ND is cal. 3035? Thanks for the info. |

So the GMT II and EXP II both use the Cal. 3185 movement. |

Current Rolex movements Cal 3155 DAY-DATE ONLY,Cal 3135 O/P Date, Datejust, Submariner, Sea-Dweller, Yacht-Master.Cal 3130 Air-King, Submariner non date, Explorer COSC tested but same movement.Cal 3185 Explorer II, GMT II.Cal 3186 the new model GMT,Cal 4030 the Zenith El-Primo modded Daytona.Cal 4130 in-house movement Daytona.Ladies OP NON DATE Cal 2130 /OP Date Cal 2235, Datejust, Yacht-Master (Lady/Midsize).Now as you can see Rolex uses just 6 movements for there entire mens oyster range now,plus two for the lady oyster non sports range.

Well there is a saying if its not broke why fix it,but all the mens watches are based on the Cal 3135.Now thats been in production and has not changed since the late 1980s.The Cal 3186 is slightly different with the parachrom balance spring,and ball bearing rotor,but all the main working are still Cal 3135 with added GMT complication.

That would have to be the new Anniversary model. The basic functions still remain the same. Only difference is the new Parachrom Blued hairspring introduced by Rolex.
