The AD called - my white SS Daytona has entered their building... BUT

i have left London after a blood test this morning (it was bloody painful) till later today...... may not get the chance to pick it up this arvo.

im currently trying to get hold of the wife and see if she can make the trip for me

but it is def. a GREAT news - im bloody excited (can you tell?)

cut a long story short..

never liked/wanted a SS Daytona until Feb this year, so called my Nth London AD and see if she can get me on the list - was quoted about 12 months.

so 5 months waiting on a SS Daytona in the UK isnt too bad

meanwhile, thought I'd email my Bucherer AD in Luceren in Switzerland at the same time to get onto their waiting list - was also quoted about 12 months (they called last month and have advised it should come by end of the year)

the SS daytona will be my first white dial Rolex

looks like there were a few more allocations in the UK recently and world wide - is that a sign of SS Daytona losing its demand or Rolex have increased the supply

(man... why did they have to call on the day when im out of the town )

ps - nagged them about the arrival of the Sub-C, still September at this stage

the 3570.50 is going to get a mate soon

Well done Eric! Pleased to hear mate. NOw PM me the details of your AD

See my posting from the other day... http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=135482

I agree - there are loads and loads around, INternet and grey dealers, all swamped. I too have warmed up to the white dial (the black dial is too cluttered and hard to read whereas the white gives everything breating room).

When I get on and off the Tube at Canary Wharf I usually spot a few. Record spotting was a few weeks back, managed to count 4 Daytonas, a GMT and a Sub.

It has lost a bit of its appeal when young boys straight out of grad school wear them...

Guys, got my Daytona call last Friday from Bishopsgate Goldsmith, getting the impression a few hit London at once, do you think availability has dramatically improved, seems bizarre considering UK is globally competitive due exchange rate and price rise and VAT increase not too far away, any thoughts! Anyway congrats, well pleased with mine!

I can't comment on the national situation, but supply at the AD where I work has been very generous for the past 18 months or so. Still a lot of demand for the white dial, much less so for the black dial
