Diver's Needed !!

So I am thinking to myself, "Self, with so many Rolex dive watch enthusiasts, shouldn't we have a GTG that incorporated some SCUBA?" Is there an interest in this, maybe meet up in the Keys for a GTG and some fun?

I would love to but my vacation time is accounted for in Scotland and New Zealand for the next 2 years!

There is some awesome diving down in American Samoa FYI

Chris, why not accompany a bunch of us to Grand Cayman on Searaiders this year. It is a "Doxa" event, but you know how much I like other watches, and the rest of the gang that goes is quite tolerant of all different brands. I know how you feel about Doxa watches, but that doesn't mean that you couldn't go and enjoy some great diving with some fellow watch enthusiasts. Plus, there is an AWESOME Rolex AD on the island.

I can't tell you how much fun it is to go. My wife went, and she thinks that it is crazy that I hang-out online with a bunch of watch nerds. However, she still claims that it is one of the best trips that she has ever been on.

Probably the closest thing you are going to get to a Rolex Scuba GTG since most Rolex enthusiasts don't dive with their treasured timepieces.

Think about it.........

(I can PM you some details if you are interested)

Thats a cool idea, I like it. I must admitt, though I have had a bit of a sour Doxa experiance, I am kinda thinking about a T-graph.

Seriously.........nobody will care even one bit if you don't have a Doxa, or if you Don't even LIKE Doxa. I will admit that they will probably try to sway your mind, but it will be in good fun. Diving with Ty and some of the other guys is a rather pleasurable experience. DEFINITELY watches take the back-seat.

I honestly think you would love it. (BTW, if you come to the event.....I will loan you a Doxa to dive with if you like so that you can feel " a part of the gang". We can wear our Rolexes when we go to the AD)

Hey! Easy there big fella! I know plenty of Rolex enthusiasts that would not dive with anything else but their Rolex. It's the Paneri lovers that you never see on a dive boat.

I'm going diving of Los Angeles next weekend and my biggest problem will be deciding which Rolex dive watch to wear.

Admit it though........We are in the minority. I can't tell you how many times I have heard...."Why don't you dive with an inexpensive casio or seiko??"

Hey! Not all 'risti are afraid of the water. All mine have hit at least 100 ft. Unfortunately can't say the same for my YM, Daytona, or GMTIIc. Hmm... I guess I need a sub or sd.

With an estimated 6 million divers in the world, I would say yes, we are in the minority. But come diving with my group or go to DEMA and you will be happily in the majority.

I'm all in! I love my SO in every way, but she doesn't dive...

Subfiend, I agree that I've never seen a panerai on a dive boat, but I assure you my PAM 87 has had it's share of bottom time...

OMG! A Panerai underwater! That's a rare sight!

I went to Dutch long before they had the slide, but I did my deep dive for my AOW cert back in 1985. Brrrrrrrrr! Now I prefer the Caymans too. Or Florida, the Bahamas, Palau or just about anywhere else I can see and be warm too.

Well my buddy owns Horizon Divers in the Keys, and a friend of the family owns Ocean Divers across the canal. A GTG would be cool. If there are any of those HOG Divers out there, I know a cave or two we can dive.

Theyre based out of Key Largo right? I dove with them several years ago and had a great time....
