The first scuff and brushed bracelets.
After being carefull with my new sub for a couple days at work i was looking at my bracelet under the street lamps of this pub i was visiting tonight only to notice an odd reflection on the clasp at a certain angle. The first scuff.. It's not too bad not that noticeable only on a particular angle. Now that the first scuff has showed itself i'm somewhat upset but at the same time relieved now i can just wear my watch and enjoy it for 5 years before i send it in for a service. I know that the brushed bracelets are pretty resilient to scuffs going with the grain but how about across the grain? Do you find them easily scuffed up? Oh and also noticed that when the links folded up towards the end links they left slight marks on the end link. Again hardly noticeable. And this all happened just when i was about to search for some clear scotch tape and take the advice of one of the members here for the clasp.

We all go thru the evolving cycles of scratch tolerance. Soon it will be nothing to loose sleep over and you can enjoy your fine Swiss timepiece.

Don't sweat the scratches.....you're probably the only one that can even see them anyways.

Yeah I too have started to notice some swirls on my new watch and its bracelet. Just makes you want to cry.
But hey its made to be worn, and those things happen. Still brings a tremendous smile to my face when I put it on.

With the grain, across the grain? The watch will be totally covered in scratches within 6 months. That's what happens when you wear a piece of stainless steel around on your wrist for 12 hours a day... Just enjoy!

I have been wearing my recently purchased and second Deepsea going on week 3 as a daily driver. No scratches so far but I was being anal about getting the first one. So yesterday I went to the local AD and had them change the SS bracelet to the plain Breitling dive band I bought for my first ever Deepsea. I no longer worry about scratches as much, plus the watch now feels lighter on my wrist.

I've finally come to terms with some light scratches on the polished center links of my GMT IIC. Now I can wear and enjoy the watch without looking for scratches every 5 minutes. I'm still more careful with it than with my SUB Date due to the polished links and clasp.

The only way to avoid scratch marks is to leave it in its box - but that's not what it is meant for. Wear and enjoy I say and let the scratches just add character to your watch. When its time for a service most of them can be knocked out and you will have to go throught the process all over again lol
